About CJ Hawkes

18 Year Old known as CJ Hawkes (Codi Hawkes). His artist name was born as DJCJ by night 5 years ago, It all started when he hosted nightly mixshows on his own radio show, now throwing down the best tunes during the 5 O Clock Traffic Jam (Weekdays) and The Weekend Jumpoff (Fridays), on Bounce Radio, alongside other artists such as Juicy M, and Starkillers. His mixshow is known as one of the best in Alberta.

Today, he goes by as CJ Hawkes. CJ feels the name change will help him at a more mature approach in becoming the serious EDM DJ/Producer he wants to be.

The key to CJ's success is his versatility and ability to detect how people respond to his music. CJ’s wide variety in musical taste makes him the DJ that can rock the biggest venues.

Over the last four years he has built a name for himself and has become one of the better and more known DJ's in the youth nightlife. Providing teenagers with parties they've never experienced before, at some of the biggest and memorable all ages events.

It wan't until early 2012 that CJ Hawkes started producing music and remixing Top 40 Mainstream Hits, over the last few years he remixed some of the hottest songs on the charts like Phat Ass Drop by DJ's from Mars, Beauty and a Beat by Justin Bieber, also making multiple mashups of some of today's biggest Beatport tracks.

Since turning 18, CJ Hawkes has opened for some of the biggest artists: Lucky Date, 3LAU, and locals Titus1, DJ Jazzy P just to name a few. In 2014 he is expected to play alongside Framework at Invasion, and at Fantasia Music Festival opening for Swede Dreams, ZAXX, and many more. He is also looking forward to playing in many cities, such as Winnipeg, Chicago, Texas and Monterrey.

With CJ being freshly 18, in 2014 he is prepared to provide you with a party that will be talked about for months. As he has done already at many bars and nightclubs in Calgary this past year.

As one of the newer DJ's of Calgary’s nightlife the music community puts it: “No one puts more energy into their shows better than CJ Hawkes can.” Which if you’ve seen him live, you probably already knew that.

With 2014 fast approaching, CJ has set to release a new Single, an EP, and some massive collaborations with artists from all over.
